The project driver of the new horizontal Sachman milling centre Frazer is to satisfy the modern market demands in terms of high productivity and product quality at a very affordable price.
Frazer has a longitudinal mobile column structure (with X-axis strokes varying from 3 to 5 metres) and cross movement provided by a ram, which allow the machine to work in pendulum modality on two separate machining zones or to machine a single long component. Frazer can be equipped with continuous or indexed mechanical heads, with torque higher than 600 Nm, ideal for roughing machining on though materials or with 20,000 rpm electrospindles for light alloys machining or finishing operations. To increase the flexibility in use Sachman proposes a rotary table (dia. 1000 mm) for workpieces up to 3 tons or a turning table driven by torque motors with 5,100 Nm torque and 43 kW power that allows carrying out turning operations with top level results. All these configuration possibilities make Frazer suitable for subcontractors (general engineering and moulds&dies) ensuring extremely low hourly costs.
From the structural point of view, the milling centre Frazer has been designed with a monolithic welded and thermosymmetrical column travelling along the longitudinal X-axis equipped with linear re-circulating roller guides (like all the linear axes of the machine) driven by rack and pinion dual drive system with Brushless motors. The motion along Y (vertical) is instead performed by a Brushless motor and ball screw, whose position ensures a minimal distance between spindle nose and worktable. Finally, the transversal Z-axis motion is obtained by the machine ram. It slides on four linear re-circulating roller guides positioned and oriented to optimize compactness and give rigidity at the maximum levels.
It’s also available Frazer in the “Open” version without enclosure, allowing X-axis strokes up to 36 meters. This configuration provides wider possibilities of front units (rotary and/or roto-translating tables, fixed beds etc.) and customized solutions to meet the requirements of both subcontractors and large industrial groups, in the aerospace and general engineering fields.
